About Shayna
Shayna is a journalist, content creator, and public speaker who has built a career by highlighting the accomplishments of marginalized people worldwide.

As a contributor for numerous publications, you can find her work in outlets like Business Insider, Essence, BBC, Wine Spectator, Food & Wine Magazine, TripAdvisor, Imbibe, Wine Enthusiast, Men’s Journal, and more. More specifically, she covers topics that sit at the intersection of hospitality and politics. Showcasing the unsung, and often marginalized, heroes of the hospitality industry and the food and beverages they create is Shayna’s bread and butter (pun fully intended). Her article about Indigenous women in the mezcal industry was a top 4 finalist in 2024 for the Tales of the Cocktail Spirited Awards.

She has also been featured in several podcasts and articles and led several panel conversations in the United States and South Africa.

As a content creator, the bulk of her storytelling is on YouTube. Here she dives deeper into the realities of childfree living, the nuances of social media narratives, and how women and femmes can best elevate and protect themselves. Shayna graduated with an MFA from the American Repertory Theater’s Advanced Acting Program in partnership with Harvard University.
